What is More Boring - Baseball or Football?

A friend of mine keeps telling me how boring baseball is.  Granted, it isn't the most exciting sport to watch, but it isn't all bad.  I suddenly remembered a post I wrote about football and baseball on my personal blog last fall.  I had read a Wall Street Journal article about how Baseball is not the slowest game of the major sports.  To save you time clicking and loading, I am re-printing the post here for The Sports Guyz.  Some eye-opening stuff!
I guess Football is even more boring than Baseball???  There’s a total of 14 minutes of action in a baseball game, 11 Minutes in football. From the WSJ

I knew Baseball hardly had any action at all, but Football?  I was totally shocked and surprised by the football numbers.  Then I got to thinking...   An average play lasts maybe 5 or 6 seconds and there are about 130 plays a game - it makes sense.  I

So we sit around for 3+ hours watching only 11 minutes of action -- Better have some good cheerleaders!  And think of all the money that the NFL is spending on Football, and the owners, etc. - just for 11 minutes.  That means an NFL football team only plays 3 1/2 t0 4 hours of actual football a year!

Kind of makes you re-think your stance on Basketball, Hockey and Soccer, doesn't it?

What Happened to the Pro Bowl?

With the upcoming main event of this weekend's NFL festivities I thought I would share a little bit about the NFL's version of the all-star game and how B.S. it is. You'd probably get more of a kick watching a gay guy watch Glee than watching the Pro Bowl yourself. What ever happened to wanting to be an all-star and being the best all-star? Not only has it been lagging since roughly around the mid 90's but since the new 2k it has been a disaster.

To think that we don't even have a skills competition anymore is ridiculous. If you go to any football camp you're doing these competitions. I don't care how you fancy yourself a football player if you've played any competive football you've had your hand around one of these competitions. Why not see the best in the world do it?

Why the hell is it played before the Super Bowl? So lets get this, players that are playing in perhaps the biggest game in the world have to be punished if they're selected to the Pro Bowl by being benched? Dumb.

They could HOWEVER do the skills competition. Let's say miraculously the Eagles got to the Super Bowl and Vick was benched for the Pro Bowl. Tell me you wouldn't want to see Vick and someone like Peterson or Chris Johnson going at some type of run skills competition.

Malarkey.

NFL please bring it back. Bring us back to what it means to being an all-star. Turn the Pro Bowl into something again.
