So the Lakers finally decided to show up - or - did Boston fail to?
I'm certain that is what I'm going to hear tomorrow when I wake up and listen to sports radio. They'll talk about how depleted the Celtics were, how Perkins (Center for Celtics) is just getting back and trying to get his "sea legs" back, and how it was a game the Lakers "should" have won.
Not to get off track, but just recently I was schooled on the fact that "won" is pronounced like "one", not like "Juan". However, after doing some extensive research, I think I've come to the conclusion that it's a "Latino" thing to say "won" the same way I would say "Juan", just without making the "J" sound like an "h".
Random.
Back to the story - I'm ready to hear all the excuses tomorrow. Hopefully though, people will remember that last season when the Celtics beat the Lakers, it was without Kobe one of those games during the regular season; yet, they got props for winning on the east coast. Of course, our here on the west coast people were saying exactly the opposite. Round and round we go.
I will say this about tonight's game, Bynum played like a man who was begging not to be traded and Kobe played like a man on a mission. Maybe Kobe didn't want the big fella' to be traded either? Maybe he is sick and tired of Boston pushing them around during the regular season? Either way, like Phil Jackson has said recently, and I paraphrase:
"This isn't the playoffs is it? No? Okay then."
As a Laker fan, it was good to see them FINALLY beat a team that matters and more importantly, it was good seeing them beat the Celtics - period. I don't foresee any trade though, not after showing their management that they can beat Boston; therefore, I think we all need to put away the panic buttons - for now - and just cross our fingers hoping everybody stays healthy. Although, that's easier said than done, especially, when you've got Pau Gasol hurting everybody.
What say you people who saw the game tonight, are you still concerned? Were you ever concerned? How do you see the rest of the season playing out?
