Momma Said Knock You Out!

LL Cool J said it best when he came out with the song "Momma Said Knock You Out" back in 1990. Today that song was LeBron James' mother's theme music. Gloria James, who is the mother of basketball star LeBron James, was arrested by Miami Beach police for assaulting a hotel valet worker when he took too long to bring up her car. It is being reported, that at the time of the incident, Mrs. James' breath smelled of alcohol and her eyes were bloodshot. There were several witnesses at the scene that have confirmed the victim's story. She was released from police custody, but first was charged with battery and disorderly conduct.


LeBron James was at his home when his mother was arrested. After the Miami Heat's afternoon practice James said "it's very sensitive because it's your mother, of course. People around me are helping me, helping her."

Gloria James has had her share of trouble before today's incident. Back in 2006 in Akron, Ohio, Mrs. James was arrested for drunk driving. At that time she pleaded no contest to disorderly conduct and physical control of a motor vehicle under the influence, speeding, and reckless operation. Along with the charges, she was also issued a suspended sentence, fined, and ordered to complete a drug and alcohol program.

Before LeBron James asked reporters to stop asking questions about his mother he said "it is my life....I have a job to do. It's a personal matter that's being taken care of. She's fine."
