Guess what? Pennington is Hurt Again

Provided by www.2010-super-bowl.com
Every year it seems that Chad Pennington gets a message from above telling him to hang up the cleats and that message has been sent again this year. Pennington tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his knee during a pickup basketball game. Pennington will have surgery on the knee during the first week of April. After the surgery comes the hard part as he will have to go through six to nine months of rehab.

Currently Pennington is a free agent and was already going through rehab for his shoulder that kept him out last season. In his only start last year for the Dolphins, he only took two snaps before injuring his shoulder. The 34 year old quarterback was really looking forward to playing this season if he was able to find a team that was interested.

Pennington has always been a fan favorite and a inspirational player. With all the major season ending injuries that he has dealt with, he had shown the will power to make a comeback. In doing so he was able to win the Comeback Player of the Year three times in his career which is nice but its not a award that you want to win more than once.

Hopefully with this recent injury it will push Pennington to end his career and go into broadcasting or possibly a coaching position.
